1. Lung transplant

During a lung transplant, a healthy lung from a deceased donor is surgically used to replace a damaged or failing lung. 3. Pancreas transplant

A pancreatic transplant is a surgical procedure to transplant a healthy pancreas from a donor to a person whose pancreas is no longer functioning properly.

The possibility of a pancreas transplant as a treatment for type 1 diabetes. A pancreas transplant may occasionally be used to treat type 2 diabetes as well.
