A pancreatic transplant is a surgical procedure to transplant a healthy pancreas from a donor to a person whose pancreas is no longer functioning properly.
The possibility of a pancreas transplant as a treatment for type 1 diabetes. A pancreas transplant may occasionally be used to treat type 2 diabetes as well.
Pancreas transplantation is carried out in three forms:
